Dr Jonathan Lee graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, with a medical degree (MB BCh BAO) in 1995 and interned at St James Hospital, Dublin for one year before receiving full medical registration in Ireland and Singapore in 1996.

He returned to Singapore to complete his National Service as a Medical Officer in the SAF before beginning his basic and advanced specialist surgical training. During training, Dr Lee worked in various surgical disciplines, including accident and emergency, general surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery and plastic surgery.

Deciding to amalgate his interests in both orthopaedics and plastic surgery, and to capitalize on his aptitude for fine precision work and attention to detail, Dr Lee decided to focus on Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery. He began a four-year advanced specialist training in this specialty in 2001 at the Singapore General Hospital and National University Hospital.

Upon completing his training stint in 2005, Dr. Lee practised as a Ministry of Health-registered hand surgeon. Dr Lee routinely treats traumatic hand and wrist injuries, degenerative hand conditions associated with ageing and congenital hand deformities in children. He also maintains a keen interest in hand surgery research and has contributed more than 20 articles to international medical journals.

The last few years have brought great advances to the techniques and technologies available for rejuvenative and aesthetic medicine, improving results while minimizing downtime and side effects; offering patients a myriad of options suited to their lifestyle and budget. Dr Lee has spent much of the last two years researching the various advances in this field, and believes in the importance of introducing safe and up-to-date aesthetics solutions specifically catered his clientele.

In January 2007, Dr. Lee was among the pioneer batch of 11 doctors in Singapore who successfully completed a three-part certification in Aesthetic Medicine, conducted by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. This is the first qualification available worldwide for this relatively new and rapidly expanding area of medicine.

At True’Est, Dr Lee’s most popular aesthetic procedures include minimally invasive facial rejuvenation, acne scar remodelling and resurfacing, using lasers, Botox®, dermal fillers and other techniques. Popular body procedures include LaserLipolysis (SmartLipo™) which is a minimally invasive procedure to remove fat, and contour the body.

Dr Lee, who is married with one daughter, enjoys scuba diving and playing with his two dogs in his spare time.
